Frédérique has a masters degree in Anthropology ( Paris-X Nanterre) and has studied photojournalism at the London College of Printing. Her work reflects an approach to photojournalism that is both traditional and original, favouring long-term projects.
She started her work in Sudan in 2002 and has since produced several photo-stories about Sudanese society. Her work has been published and exhibited in many different venues in Sudan, France and the UK. Her work will be shown in the UN pavilion of the 2005 EXPO Aichi, in Japan and China.
She received a grant from the French Embassy in Khartoum in 2003 to complete her research. In May 2004 Frédérique won the HUMANITY PHOTO AWARD sponsored by UNESCO. She also exhibited at the Africa Days Festival, UNESCO Headquarters, Paris in May 2004.
Frédérique divides her time between working on assignments for magazines, commercial clients and personal documentary projects. She is currently working with different NGOs in the UK and Sudan.
She had an exhibition at the Brunei Gallery, School of Oriental and African Studies about Sufi Festival in Sudan from mid October to mid December 2004. The Arts Council England was the major sponsor of the exhibition.
