Aksel Coruh is an architect and photographer who lives in Minneapolis. As a registered architect, he has practised for nearly a decade in the Netherlands and China whilst in parallel employing photography to investigate the complexity of urban fabrics and secret lives of buildings and their inhabitants. His work currently focuses on documenting the social transformation of cities in relation to emergent as well as disappearing building typologies.

His photography has been published by Foto8, Matter, Deca, and Ninom Architects. His work has received grants from the Mondriaan Foundation, the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture (Fonds BVKB), and Stroom Den Haag.
